Explosive Night of Rock Awaits Auckland as Rise The Wicked Headlines Dead Witch on 26 July, with Special Guests Danny Rascal and Rancho Mirage. 

Auckland, New Zealand – Take the chill out of the city’s winter with the hot-as-hell sound of Rise The Wickedon the stage at the iconic Dead Witch, Ding Dong Lounge on 26 July. With support from the dynamic Danny Rascal and genre-blending Rancho Mirage, this promises to be a fiery night filled with scorching riffs, roaring vocals, and the raw, visceral power of live rock music.

Headliners: Rise The Wicked 

Known for their adrenaline-charged performances and working-class sound, Rise The Wicked have steadily carved their name into New Zealand’s music rock and metal tapestry. Drawing a devoted following with their debut album ‘State of Oblivion’, they will entertain with fan favourites and unreleased gems alike. 

“We live for the stage, for the chance to connect, to make every show a celebration of what heavy rock is all about,” says the band’s drummer, Jonty Quinn. “It will be our first gig at Dead Witch.  We can’t wait to bring our music to life for our Auckland fans.”

Joining the line up for the night will be the boundary-pushing sounds of Rancho Mirage, whose genre-defying style fuses crushing riffs, atmospheric soundscapes, and ethereal vocals into a sound that is both otherworldly and relentless.   Their stage presence is magnetic, and their original tracks have been turning heads across the local scene.

Taking the torch forward, Danny Rascal will deliver a set bursting with raw energy, introspective lyrics, and irresistible grooves.  A proven star with chart topping history himself and support to grammy nominated artists.  Danny has a reputation for crowd engagement and dynamic live shows.  Danny Rascal is primed to get the audience moving and set the perfect tone for Rise The Wicked’s main event.

Waikato Heavy Rock band, Rise The Wicked, playing Biddy Mulligan's 29 November in celebration of two major releases.

Rise the Wicked (RTW) is an electrifying five-piece Rock and Metal band from Waikato, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Formed in 2019, they unleashed their debut album, ‘State of Oblivion’ on digital platforms in 2023, quickly attracting a dedicated fanbase with their high-energy guitar-driven sound, intense rhythms, and commanding vocals paired with powerful lyrics.

The band has two major upcoming milestones to celebrate. The inaugural first physical release of their album ‘State of Oblivion’ - a limited edition CD format with a stunning 8 page graphic booklet and full lyrics.  To really smash November out of the park, the band is also releasing the highly anticipated video for their top streaming track on the album ‘Small City’. 

The CD and video release will ‘Collide & Conquer’ on Friday 29 November at a one-off show in Hamilton at Biddy Mulligan’s back bar. Doors will open at 8pm, coinciding with the exact minute the video and CD will be released. Ticket holders at the show will have exclusive first access to the CD and receive the first links to view the video. 

Joining RTW will be the talented band, Checaine. Checaine are a melodic progressive hard rock band from Hamilton. Their album ‘Turn the Stone’, EP ‘Symbols’ and in particular the track ‘Bring Me Down’ gained recognition across the local and international music scene. 

In an extra celebratory mood, the bands and sponsors, Joe’s Garage, will be drawing a prize pack on the night featuring meal vouchers, CDs and merchandise from both bands. To be eligible for the prize pack, buy your tickets for the gig through Eventfinda and be there on the night.

Those there on the night may also get an advance listen to some of the new tracks that will hit EP release early 2025.

Her deep experience, skills and commitment to nurturing talent align seamlessly with Rise the Wicked’s aspirations for growth and innovation.
